Most UK building companies will require that you have taken the CSCS test before beginning work; this is the first step to achieving you CSCS card.
The identification provides you with proof of your knowledge, skills and qualification. It is portable proof that you are trained in health and safety to industry standard. Construction Awards are CITB approved and have a test centre in Wembley which is ideally located if you live in North or North West London.
The test you will be given depends on the card you are applying for but all tests are based on Health, Safety and Environment at different levels and occupations.
The Construction Skills Certificate Scheme regulates all of the tests so that information given and tested on is fully up to date with industry standards.
The Construction Skills Health, Safety and Environment test will last for 45 minutes and includes 50 questions. These multiple choice questions will be split into two sections, twelve will be behavioural case study questions which will require you know how to behave on a construction site from day to day.
The other 38 questions will be knowledge questions to test your understanding of health, safety and environment issues.
Once you have sat the test you will receive written confirmation of your achievement. Please note - this is not your CSCS card.
